Sebastian Kitzberger (1992)
Sebastian Kitzberger is a Czech glass artist and designer known for his innovative fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. A graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (UMPRUM), he creates both functional objects—such as vases, decanters, and glassware—and experimental sculptures. His work explores surface textures, bold colors, and unconventional shaping techniques, often drawing inspiration from historical styles.
Currently, Kitzberger focuses on the concept of entropy, using “controlled chance” to shape glass objects. By repeatedly casting molten glass into wooden molds, he allows natural deterioration to influence the form and texture of his pieces, resulting in organic, nature-like structures. His work has been showcased at prestigious events like Designblok in Prague, Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, and the London Design Festival, earning him multiple award nominations for his contribution to contemporary glass art.
